Post 6 Hours and project

Okay so I just went to my newest internship at big art studios. when I got there, I got like a 30 minute shpiel of how they ran things, what they did, and how they made money. They make giant pieces of art from metal and other various materials. The way them make money is by renting the warehouse out to other people. they don't make much from what I understand, but most of the people like their jobs. Some of the things I accomplished were fixing the slider wheel thing on a fence and sorting metal scaffolding. I'm really stoked to work here because they have a little bit of everything I'm currently interested in.  Welding, auto shop, fabrication. I'm really excited. My plan on getting my hours caught up is to work past February 4th. There is no way I'm going to go down there extra days in a week. It's too expensive. The thing I enjoyed most about my first day was that it felt like a video game: once i was done with one job, I had to go and find the next person to complete what they told me. Kind of like Grand Theft Auto without the theft and the cars all need work or are internally lacking different mechanisms. Anyways, thats just what happened last Friday (Jan. 7th). I would like to get into welding and use that skill when I'm creating my project but we'll see. Ok late.

Post 5 New years night (hours and project)

I totally spaced on going to my internship over break... I didn't do anything academic besides study for the AP exam.
In order to get back on track for completing my WLE hours, i need to work at the Zeum. I am dedicating tomorrow to school work and my internship. i dont even have a thesis or essential question. Tomorrow I had better be buckling down at the library to get everything into position. I just need help getting the information about the ZEUM so I'm going to call up and take notes on what needs to be done in order to secure an internship there. Ive been slacking. and I always say Im going to fix it but i never do. I think I need to make my goals more concrete. =/.     anyway, thats where Im at right now. Hopefully Ill get more info from Nida tomorrow about where I need to be and what needs to be done to get there on Monday .

December 4th (blog 3)

I didn't go to my WLE for this week yet. I was supposed to go to testing today but I woke up too late so now I am just going to do my chores, do homework, and probably go hang out. I'm super bummed I didn't wake up on time. Anyway, some strengths of my workplace are that we get things done quickly. Last time I was there, one of our clients wasn't  getting enough light in the hair salon so we had to install more lights. She wanted a total of eight lights, all of which were installed within 2-3 hours. Some of the weaknesses at my workplace are that Aaron's main language is Spanish, which is great because I can/have learned some Spanish from he and his friends. One of the downsides of this WLE is that I found it through a friend rather than on my own. I know that I will have SOME contacts I meet through friends but I would like to get better at speaking to people about potential jobs on my own.

Post 1 Wednesday Nov 17th

During my first WLE day, I went to Aarons house and we sat at the table

Intro Post: How I got my WLE October 26th

I have been looking for an internship that relates to engineering and science. So far, I have been in the process of setting up possible internships with Mythbusters and Aarons dad. He is an electrician. For Mythbusters, I have been more proactive about pursuing the internship for mythbusters. If all goes well, I have a good chan ce of getting in. My mentor/s would either be Jaime, Adam, Kari and the others. If im not interning with Mythbusters, Mr. Alcantar will be my mentor. The leadership skills I would need to use are effective and persuasive communication when I am telling them why I would be a helpful addition to the organization. I also need to use effective project management in order to keep in touch with the business owners.
